Storage
As one of Tasmania’s premier removal companies, Watkins Removals have first class storage facilities that can take care of all you storage needs.

From the initial consultation with our trained representative Watkins Removals will provide you with a written estimation of all your storage costs and the process involved in the uplift, storage and then final re-delivery of you possessions. No job is too big or small. Whether you require storage for a few days or a few years we have you covered.

Your belongings will be securely stored:

• In airtight, pest proof home storage modules or containers
• Undercover in our warehouse
• Security monitored 24 hours a day 7 days a week
• Fully inventoried upon receival to our depot

The size of the consignment will determine the way your goods are stored. For a large consignment, Watkins Removals will arrive at your home and load your furniture into one of our containers. The furniture will stay in this container until you require it to be re-delivered, this reduces double handling of your goods and therefore reduces the chance of any damages.

For smaller consignments, Watkins Removals will store your belongings in our specially designed wooden Home Packs, these are then stored in our warehouse until you require the furniture to be re-delivered.

Insurance
Watkins Removals employees are always careful and professional when handling your goods to minimise any risk of loss or damage. Even the most careful driver with years of experience will tell you that there are times when other road users can cause accidents that are out of our drivers control. Whilst our claim record is low we still recognise that there is a risk that damages will occur, that is why we recommend you take out transit insurance.

Only removal companies who are members of the Australian Furniture Removals Association (AFRA) are authorised to arrange insurance on your behalf. Watkins Removals became a member of AFRA in April 2005 and are therefore able to offer our customers transit and storage insurance as underwritten by Aldridge & Street, a division of Cowden PTY LTD which holds an Australian Financial Services Licence.

In the event of a claim Watkins Removals will try to resolve the matter with as little stress and discomfort to you, we are here to provide you with the best service possible and that means getting things done quickly and efficiently.

Types of Cover
When taking out insurance cover for your belongings you have a choice between two different types of cover, Full Comprehensive Insurance Cover and Restricted Insurance Cover. Please read on to find out more about the two types of cover.

Full Comprehensive Cover

Full Cover insures all risks of loss or damage to the insured goods during transit from any external cause including accidental damage during packing, loading and unloading by the removal company or its representatives. However, regardless of which cover the customer selects, goods packed by the customer are insured only for restricted cover.

Restricted Cover - Only covers against the following.

• Fire, explosion, lightning, and flood
• Overturning and/or derailment of conveyance
• Collision of vessel, aircraft or conveyance
• Crashing or forced landing of aircraft
• Stranding, sinking, or contact of a vessel with any external object other than water
• Entry of water into any vessel, hold, container lift van or place of storage

Storage Insurance is also available when you store your belongings with Watkins Removals and Storage.

Packing
Watkins Removals have experienced Pre-Packers who can come to your home in the days leading up to your pickup and provide you with a full house packing service or in the least pack those breakable items that were worrying you. A full house pack generally takes 1 day and is completed the day prior to uplift, however for larger jobs the pre-pack may be completed over a 2 day period, this will be discussed with you when our experienced representative comes to your home.

Watkins Removals will arrive at your home with all the necessary materials from boxes, packing paper and tape ready to get the job done quickly and efficiently. With our trained staff you cannot go wrong. So ask our representative today for your no obligation, free quote to pack your belongings.

Packing Yourself
If you decide to pack your belongings yourself we are able to provide you with all the necessary packing boxes you will require.

These boxes are given to you on a loan basis, therefore, you will not be required to pay for them as long as they are returned to our office within 3 weeks of your furniture being delivered.

If you wish to purchase boxes from us to keep you are welcome to do so. Please see below for price list.

• Brand New Standard cartons = $6.60each
• Second Hand Standard cartons = $4.40 each
• Brand New Book cartons = $4.40 each
• Second Hand Book cartons = $3.30 each
• Port-a-robes = $25.00 each
• Picture cartons = $5.00 each
• Mattress Protector = $5.00 each
• Packing Tape = $2.50 each
• Packing Paper = $30.00 per ream

Car Transportation
Watkins Removals work in conjunction with Autotrans, The Car Carrying Care Specialists. Over the years we have developed an excellent working relationship with Autotrans and have found that they carry out their work in a very professional manner with attention to detail and customer satisfaction. With these attributes we have no hesitation in utilising their car transportation services to relocate your car anywhere in Australia.

Whether you require your car, boat, caravan or trailer to be relocated no job is too big or too small, we can also arrange storage of your vehicle as we understand there may be times when it is not possible for you to take delivery of your vehicle straight away.

We will arrange everything for you - all you need to do is inform us when you require the vehicle to be collected from your home or specified point of pickup and when you require the vehicle to be delivered to your new address. You can even stipulate the times you require the uplift and delivery to take place!
